To begin developing a life-long pattern of good habits and a sense of responsibility, Montessori students learn skills that build up their self-image. School activities are their work as they learn skills that foster capability and independence. Many work activities isolate one skill at a time allowing the student to practice it over and over again, without having to move on before he/she is ready. This leads to approaching the next challenge with confidence.
